My experience and passion for financial literacy and instruction started when my family decided to buy our first home in Bellingham. When we started the process, we realized quickly that our finances needed a lot of work. We made decent money but were not organized and we were saddled with consumer debt. So we got on a plan to pay down debt, save an emergency fund, and THEN started aggressively saving for a down payment.

By staying consistent and disciplined toward our financial goal of homeownership, we eventually reached financial security with emergency cash in the bank, a nice downpayment, and a brighter financial future. Through this experience, I developed a passion to teach and inspire others to achieve their own financial goals, big and small, through learning to budget, stay accountable, and save BIG.
